The Pasta party takes place on the surface lot in downtown Flint the night prior to the Crim Festival of Races. The Shelter of Flint organizes the pasta dinner for racers, family members, and general public. Tickets and Corporate sponsorships make up the revenue's raised through this event. The Crim Festival of Races has become one of the most successful events of it's kind in the country. In an attempt to capitalize on it's growing popularity and to see other non profit organizations benefit financially, the Crim organizers have promoted agencies such as the Shelter to hold their own events. It is hoped that these events will compliment one another and add fundraising opportunity.
