The Holiday Appeal is a direct mail campaign created to provide a second opportunity during the course of the year to donate money to the Shelter of Flint.  Individuals as well as corporations are asked to make a donation.  The letter asking for contributions relies upon the generous nature of people just prior to the Holiday Season and end of the year.

Christmas decorations, handcrafted by the children living in the Shelter, are sent to the donor or someone they designate or wish to honor.  Monies raised go toward the general operations of the 24-hour Shelter Care, Transitional Housing, Outreach Services and Children's Programs.

The Holiday ornament is a reproduction of 5 pieces selected from the many that are created by the children in the Shelter's art program.  A decoration and profile of the artist will be sent to the donor.

Individuals select a level at which they would like to donate.  The donor list grows through the addition of prospects provided by staff, board members, volunteers and friends of the Shelter.  Donor levels are corresponded with actual per diem costs of the Shelter's programs.
