Becoming homeless and entering a shelter can be a scary experience, especially as a child.  Our emergency shelter, transitional housing and outreach programs act together to help clients work toward permanent stability.  But we can't do it alone.  We need friendly, motivated groups and individuals who are willing to give a little of themselves and their time.  No matter what your line of work or specialty is, there's a place for you or your organization at Shelter of Flint, Inc. We have volunteer opportunities in a wide variety of fields.  Whatever they may be, your talents can help us help someone in need. Please join us in reaching out to the homeless community.

If you enjoy working with children, or are studying in the field of Social Work, volunteering at the Shelter of Flint can be a good way to gain first hand experience.

Public Relations/Fund Development

If advertising, speaking or fundraising are your areas of expertise, then we can put your skills to good use.

Special Events

As a special event volunteer you will help organize and/or implement promotional and informational functions.
